Since Skyler and his buddies couldn't do a Turkey Bowl this year due to now having to rotate to n-laws, they decided to play a Christmas bowl.

We are lucky to have great friends and I am lucky to have great friendships with all the Wives. We had a lot of fun watching the game and supporting our men :)

Skylers 26th Birthday

We celebrated Skylers birthday on December 23rd. He really deserves to have a wonderful birthday. He works so hard and I really just wanted a day to celebrate him.

I never get to surprise him but I thought this year I might actually get away with it. I was so anxious that I gave him his present the night before. He has been talking about this watch for the last year now and I don't think he ever thought I would get it for him. He was so surprised and I loved it!

Skyler didn't have to work on his birthday so as soon as I got off work, we headed to the movies with some friends. We went as saw Sherlock Holmes.

After the movie, we had some time to kill before dinner so we headed to Fiesta Fun so the boys could play around in the batting cages.

We then met up with a few more couples and headed to dinner at the Black Bear Diner. Out of all the places that Skyler could have chosen for dinner, he chose the Black Bear. I questioned him probably 100 times to see if he REALLY wanted to go and he never changed his mind. I was really glad he didn't because Black Bear was So good. If you havent ever been then you really need to try it out. We had so much fun.

After dinner, we headed back to our place to meet up with more friends and family for some Cake and Ice Cream. We crammed a lot of people into our little town home but we had a blast and I think Skyler could really feel the love.

Drake stole the show that night. He was helping Skyler with his Cake and Blowing out the Candles. It was the cutest thing and he kept us all laughing.

Skyler and I are so grateful for our friends and family for making his birthday special. Skyler is the nicest, sweetest, most selfless person and deserves the best birthday. I love him and cant wait to spend many more birthdays with him.

I have always enjoyed them, For some reason this year I have become obsessed with Christmas Lights.We have gone to see lights on numerous occasions so I decided to turn it into one GIANT post!

ST. GEORGE HOME

If you live in St. George, I am sure you have seen this first house. Pictures do not even do it justice. Nicole and I scared the boys because we literally screamed when we turned the corner to come across this house. We were so impressed!

We were up at Skylers Christmas work party for Petersen Medical and heard about the amazing lights at The Riverwoods Shopping center. We had to stop by and they did not disappoint.

ST. GEORGE TEMPLE AND TOWN SQUARE

The week before Christmas, we went around town with the Freis and Chaviras to see the lights at the temple and at town square. We also came across this amazing house here in St. George, they had smoke machines and bubble machines and Santa Clause even made an appearance. I love St. George for the effort the city does to bring the Christmas spirit. Next, we headed to the temple. We enjoyed walking through the visitor center and enjoying the beautiful lights.

For my mother-n-laws birthday we got her tickets to Eric Dodges Christmas concert. The concert was at the indoor theater at Tuacahn last weekend. He is so talented and we had so much fun at the concert. It really made us feel the Christmas Spirit.

Last week Skyler and I got to babysit Tylee, Lance and Kyler. They are our best friends Kids, the Wilsteads. We play with them all the time but have never babysat before. We were pretty excited.

We took over a little ginger bread house for Tylee to build. Skyler and her tried building it for a while and the walls just kept collapsing, so....it turned into a mound of ginger bread, icing and candy. All that mattered was that those two had so much fun together.

Otter Creek Cabin

Well, a few weeks ago we headed up to the Wilsteads beautiful cabin in Otter Creek. As always, it was so fun. We played games, had good food, played on a fun swing in the middle of no where, Four Wheeled, shot guns, ect. Thanks to the Wilsteads and the Freis for the fun weekend.

Independence, Kansas

Over Halloween my Mom, Skyler and I headed to Independence, Kansas to visit my sisters family. We had a blast. It was so fun to spend time with my family and play with my nieces. I miss them SO much! Although Independence is such a small town, there is always so much to do while we are there. Here are so random pictures from our trip.

The leaves were so beautiful. If ya can't tell by all the pictures I took, I loved seeing the trees and the amazing colors they produced.

Independence cemetery looks like something you would see in a movie. It is really cool.

Oh Buster, this is my sisters dog and he is THE CUTEST thing. You tell him to grab his tail and he will grab it and try and walk it over to ya like he is playing fetch with it. He is so well trained. He can do so many tricks.

We went to a Pumpkin Patch. As you can see, this was close to the last Pumpkin there.

Neewollah Food!

The food.....Where to even start? It made the whole trip worth all the traveling, okay and also seeing our family but the food was right up there. There was so much food that I had to do a whole blog post dedicated to it. That has got to tell you something, right? We just ate and ate for days straight.

This was just one of the trucks there. Just look at that variety of fried foods!

These little burritos were called Whamos. It was like a tortilla, cooked like an ice cream cone and stuffed with Meat and Rice. They were SO good!

And my favorite, Deep Fried Snickers. No one really loved it, but I did. YUM!! I can never eat a regular snickers again!

Surprisingly, Not all food that was eaten had a picture. We also had Peach Cobbler and Ice Cream, Cotton Candy, Joffles (A little sand which kinda like a Panini), Root beer and lots of Candy. I will make the trip again just for all that yummy food.

Neewollah

In Independence, Kansas every year through Halloween they have the Neewollah Festival. (Get it, Halloween spelled backwards) Well the whole town and all surrounding towns come to this. They have Races, Parades, a Carnival, Beauty pageants, Balls, Ect. It's crazy how huge it is.

On October 25th we headed to the Freis house to carve some pumpkins.

Panguitch/Bryce Canyon

On October 22 we headed to Panguitch to stay at our friend, Zack Gunns family cabin. We hung out, played baseball, Rode 4 wheelers, and hiked Bryce Canyon.

Bryce Canyon is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We are so lucky to have it so close to us, because people come from all over the world for to see it.

Monster Cup

We headed down to Vegas for a couple days to Shop, Eat, Hang with Friends and go to the Monster Cup with the Ence Family. We stayed a night with our friends Jayden and Courtney Jolley. It was so fun to see them and get to spend time with them. They moved down over a year ago for pharmacy school and we MISS them!

We headed to the Monster Cup finals at Sam Boyd Stadium on Saturday. We had such a great time with our family.

The track this year went out of the stadium and into the grass area. There was one part that you walk under the track. So I got this cool picture of Sky with the rider over top.

PGA golf Tournament

My brother, Dallas, called us Saturday night and said he had 2 extra tickets to the Justin Timberlake Shriners PGA golf tournament for that next day. Skyler loves golf and follows it pretty closely so he was so excited to get down to Vegas and watch the tournament. I on the other hand like golf enough that I play it occasionaly but couldn't stand to watch it on tv. Anyways, the tournament was so fun! Even for me, I had a blast. It was really cool being so close to the Pro Golfers. We could literally stand about 5 feet from them when they were Teeing (Spelling?) off. The etiquette there was quite different from any sports event I have been to. We whispered the whole time, did the signiture golf clap, No cameras, no phones. It was crazy but so fun. We never got to see Justin Timberlake because he was not coming until later and we didn't want to stick around. Thanks for the fun day Dallas and Jessica and thanks for the tickers. What an experience!

3rd Anniversary

On September 13th we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary.Unfortunately life got in the way of too big of celebration but we still had agreat night. We both had to work and Skyler had class until about eight. So, wemet up for dinner at Gun barrel, where we had never been before. It was prettygood. We are going to Vegas for a couple days over UEA so we are saying we willreally "Celebrate" then. So dinner was just perfect for a fun nightout to celebrate.

On our first anniversary, Skyler got me a charm bracelet andevery anniversary he adds on a charm for one of our favorite memories of theyear. This year he got me a cute anniversary heart just to show that thebracelet is a bracelet for our anniversary and then he got this cute littlecharm of a bike. We bought bikes at the beginning of summer and it has been oneof the greatest investments. It may be just a little thing we decided toremember for our 3rd year but it has been so fun to ride our bikes together. Welook forward to the time we get to spend with each other on those rides.

I cannot believe it has been 3 years that wehave been married. Time has flown by and I am being honest when I say thatevery year seems to get better. I don't know what I would do or where I wouldbe with out Skyler. He makes me a better person and I know there is no one outthere that is better for me than him. He is the greatest blessing and I am soglad I get to spend eternity with him. He is the love of my life and I cannotwait for the many years to come.

Last weekend was the annual SCPA tournament with all of Skylers high school buddies (Minus Brock, We missed you.) If you haven't seen my blog about it in years past, here is a quick recap. 10 of Skylers best friends get together every year, draw teams of 2, and usually play 5 events. Tennis, golf and bowling are always events but then they draw 2 wild card events. You get points for what place you take in each event and at the end who ever has the most points wins. Your team gets $100 for winning and definitely the bragging rights. You would be surprised how seriously they take this. Its always a really fun weekend but such a long day. We were to the tennis courts at 6:45 a.m. this year and finished about 5:30 p.m. I am so grateful for Skylers friends and the good influence they have on each other.

Wayne Newton

Earlier this summer, Skyler and I were watching the movie Vegas Vacation when Skyler said "You couldn't pay me to see Wayne Newton in Concert." It was not a half hour later when my Dad called and said "Guess who Tuacahn just booked, Wayne Newton!" I told my Dad what Skyler had said and he was so adamant to get him to that concert. Well the concert rolled around and I basically had to drag Skyler out the door to go. Although it wouldn't be my first choice of concerts, we actually had a good time. He is quite the performer and actually a really great guy. Thanks dad for the tickets and the fun night!

My poor nose

My nose just works too well. I am not sure if that is a blessing or a curse but ever since I was little I can smell anything and everything from miles away. I think I drive my family, my husband and my co workers crazy with all my weird smells that I just cant stand. For example, Maple Syrup, Mastisol (from work), and anything that is cooked in the kitchen that lingers for more than an hour just to name a few. Well on this particular night last week I decided to cook fish.....IN THE HOUSE! I always cook it on the grill to avoid that terrible fishy smell that lingers for a week. Its such a predicament because I love fish. I do like it grilled but I like to cook it different ways as well. I decided just to suck it up and cook it on the stove. I almost immediately regretted it. I just had to post a picture of all of the products used after cooking that dang fish. Not only did I use all of these but I used them all at the same time. Although it did take a lot of effort, it only took about 4 days for me to stop smelling it in our house. Thank heavens for wonderful products like all of these. They included a scentsy burner, 2 Candles, Vinegar, Lysol, Wall flowers, and windows opened! If anyone has any other suggestions on getting rid of smells, please send them my way!

Coral Pink Sand Dunes

We made our annual trip to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes with the Ence family. As always, we had a lot of fun. We knew we wanted to go camping or get away somewhere, so, instead of traveling too far, we just headed to Quail Lake with the Wilsteads boat, a tent, plenty of food and great company. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather although we would have appreciated it more if the temperature would have cooled down when we went to sleep.

5 Year High School Reunion

We went to the Leann Rimes concert at Tuacahn on August 11. I have never been the biggest fan of her but we had free tickets so its always fun to have a night out. Well, it ended up being so fun. Leann Rimes is one of the most talented singers I have ever heard live. She is amazing. Isn't she skinny? If she stood behind the microphone stand, you couldn't see her :) Thanks for the tickets Dad! We had so much fun!

BEAVER CABIN

We went to our Cabin in Beaver a couple weekends ago and had so much fun! (Sorry picture overload, I tried to keep it short) Our cabin was built by my great grandpa and has been in the family ever since. It is gorgeous up there. Beautiful property, our own private lake, cool weather and fishing. I couldn't stop taking pictures of the gorgeous scenery!

Peddle Boat

On Saturday, Skyler and I took Reggie and my Grandma down to the Beaver Golf course to get in 9 holes at Canyon Breeze Golf Course in Beaver. It is a really fun course and really laid back. Obviously they don't care what ya wear.

Reggie didn't have a golf bag so we improvised with our Camping Chair Bag. Now that is Redneck and just tops off our experience with Golfing in Beaver.

We had such a great weekend. I am sad I didnt get a huge group shot but we had quite the crew. I can't wait until we can get up there again.

24th of July weekend

The 24th was an eventful and a nice break from work. We started off the weekend with a date night at Town Square. They play movies every other Friday night on a big screen. When we went, they showed the movie Fly boys which was filmed right here in St. George. It was such a good movie and fun to see St. George.

Later than night, we played a little joke on the Freis who were staying at a hotel by our house for their first year anniversary.

The next morning we met up with Blair and Nicole and went to Red hills golf course and played a round of golf. It was so much fun. I have only been a couple times but don't think I have ever realized how much fun it is to golf. Nicole and I might not be the best golfers but we kept up and I think our husbands were proud.

Do you love our golf attire? Luckily Red hills does'nt have a dress code.

Later Saturday night we headed up to Zions to have dinner and go see Transformers 3 on the Imax theater in 3D. We ate at Wild Cat Willys. It was So good!

After dinner, we had an hour to spare until the movie so we walked around Zions. It was such a nice day and so beautiful up there.

Blair and Sky had a little snack, they were picking at eating the fruit off the trees.

It was finally time for the movie. We loved our 3D glasses. The movie was great. It was crazy to watch it on that Imax screen. It is so huge. If anyone is looking for a good date night, head to the Imax. It is not any more expensive than the theaters here in town and we really felt like we were on vacation.

4th of July

We started the day off at the Sugar Loaf (Dixie Rock) with the Freis. It was so nice to have the day off of work and be outside for a change. We wanted to attempt fat mans misery. I haven't done that in a while so I was a little nervous I was not going to fit. Luckily, me and Nicole made it all the way through. The boys on the other hand, it was a little bit tighter squeeze. Although I think they could have made it if they really really tried, we didn't think it would be a fun 4th if they ended up getting stuck. So, we met them up top after.

We did find a crack they could fit through. Lets just call this, Obese mans misery!

I could never get sick of this view. I love St. George!

After the Dixie Rock. We met up with the Chaviras and went to the River.

Later than night we headed to the old Air Port hill and enjoyed some fireworks. We had so much fun this year. We are so thankful to live in this great country and we had a fun day celebrating our freedom!

I had such a great 23rd birthday! I forgot to take a lot of pictures but I just wanted to say a quick thanks to all my family and friends for making it such a great week and when I say week, I literally mean celebrating sunday through the next sunday.

Urban Camping

We were planning on going camping last weekend until our plans fell through due to work schedules and camping spots so, we had to compromise. We camped in the Freis back yard. We hiked down by the river, Grilled Hot dogs, Roasted Marshmallows and the boys hunted Skunks.

The boys saw a skunk and followed it around. It ended up getting away so to try and trick us, they tried to pass off this board as the skunk. Nice Try!

After we had already seen our share of animals and bugs outside, us girls were too scared to sleep out back. We decided to take our camping trip inside. Although we didn't get much sleep and we weren't roughing it, it was a really fun "camping" Trip!

Red Cliffs

A couple of weeks ago we went hiking at Red Cliffs with some friends. If you have never been there, it is so amazing! It is only a 20 minute drive and an easy hike.
Plus, it only cost $2 per car to park there for the day.
We had so much fun. Red Cliffs is so beautiful and the weather was perfect.

Tuacahn

We had the opportunity to go and see the plays at Tuacahn already this summer. We wanted to go before we had to sit through them in 115 degree weather. We had so much fun! Last month we got to celebrate Zach and Ashley Gunns wedding. Zach and Sky have been friends since they were kids. We always have so much fun when all the friends get together. This was the first time in a while since all 10 boys have been together!

We are sad that most of his friends are now married because we will miss the fun times at their weddings when everyone gets together. We had such a fun weekend!

My step brother Jared got married on May 14th. We had so much fun celebrating Jared and Sierras wedding. They are more than perfect for each other and we are excited for Sierra to officially be apart of this crazy family we have.

I love when my whole family gets together. My sister Morgan and her family got to come from Kansas, and Markie got to come down from Salt Lake. We had so much fun!

Oh Drake, he sure keeps us entertained. In the picture on the right, I kept calling his name so he would look at me to smile and he gave me quite the dirty look. He didn't want to be bothered. I think this made for a cuter picture anyways.

Well unfortunately I was the last one to post this blog after everyone else standing in the picture has already updated theirs! (Wow you guys are fast! Even Carly beat me!) So, I am sorry for anyone that has read this a hundred times. I should just say Dito!
Well anyways, we went to the Freis for a going away party for Eric and Megan who are moving to Salt Lake. We had such a fun night. Filled with good food, swimming, great company, dunk ball, mauling babies, wagon rides, girl talk...ect.

Ever since we have been married and were given this entertainment center, I have thought about painting it black. We have recently moved and I knew it was the perfect time to finally do it. We have never done any type of project like this so I was a little nervous that we would completely ruin our entertainment center but I am actually so happy with how it turned out and I wish I would have done it 2 1/2 years ago.
Thanks to our good friends the Chaviras for just coming over to help us move it to the back porch, they ended up staying and helping us the whole time! They saved us many hours of work!

Cody Simpson/Greyson Chance

Another fun concert....Headlining was Cody Simpson and Greyson Chance. Has anyone heard of these kids? They are young, probably like 14 maybe but so talented. My dad, as most of you probably know already, gets us tickets to every tuacahn concert. This probably wouldn't have been our first choice of concerts but we still had fun. Besides a few parents, we were the oldest ones there and I think Dallas, Skyler and my dad were the only boys at that concert. We were surrounded by screaming, crazy, 12 year old girls. We had tickets front and center on the 2nd row. We had a few evil eyes filled with jealous rage when everyone found out that only the first 2 rows could go up and stand at the front of the stage, and then you have us old geezers sitting down. We were eventually able to switch seats with some girls on the 3rd row so they could go up front. I had my ears plugged most of the concert (then I really felt old) but the screams from the crowd were ear piercing. We kept checking to see if they were bleeding. All it all, we had a lot of fun, and these kids were so cute and very talented.

Last week we wen to the Due West concert. It was suppose to be at Tuacahn but because of bad weather, it was moved to the Cox Auditorium. We LOVE Due west. We have seen them in concert a handful of times now and we still just can't get enough. They are going to be huge, we just know it!

Another Tuacahn concert has come and gone. Eddie Money was the star of the show. He was really popular in the 70's and 80's I believe. Some of his hits you might recognize are "Two tickets to paradise", and "Take me home tonight." Anyways, we had a lot of fun as usual and don't worry, there is a lot more to come. We went to the BON JOVI concert in Salt Lake! It was SOO much fun. If anyone knows Skyler well, he is obsessed with Bon Jovi. He has wanted to go to their concert for so long. I was able to get him tickets for his birthday and let me tell you, it had been a long 4 months waiting in anticipation for the show. It was one of the best concerts and we had a blast. I enjoyed just seeing my husband so happy. He deserves it. The only problem is, we had so much fun, you can't just go to one concert.

Kansas

Over Spring break we were able to take a break from work and school to head out to Independence, Kansas to visit my Sister Morgan and her family.
We had such a blast visiting them and playing with the girls. After we got home, we needed another Vacation. We were exhausted, and I will explain why.
We started the trip out leaving St. George at about 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and driving up to Salt Lake. It was bad enough we left so late and then at about Cedar, we hit a Blizzard. It was SO scary. We were going 30 mph on the free way and could hardly see a thing. After much prayer and discussion, we decided we would be alright and to keep on the road. We arrived in Salt lake a little after 2:00 A.m. After that, we slept for a few hours and then woke up at 5:00 A.M. to leave for the airport. After being on stand by and missing flight after flight, we finally were able to catch a flight to Las Vegas.(Which was not the original plan) We stayed the night there and flew to Kansas the next day. Although we lost a day in our trip, we finally made it to our destination and then the fun began.

We ate at the greatest restaurant called Bella Vita. Its a little Italian restaurant inside an old hotel, right in the middle of Kansas. Just talking about it, its making me crave it!

Gracey and Emily were always wrestling Skyler. They gave him a run for his money.

We luckily had the BEST weather while we were there, it was so beautiful. In Kansas, its ok to wear a swimsuit and snow boots because you never know when the weather is going to change. Emily is quite the trend setter.

This building is Emilys school that she attends. It was awesome. Independence is full of these cool buildings and really pretty old houses.

One of my favorite things we did in Kansas was go to the town Zoo. It is Free! Well sorta, thanks to Corky and Morgan for paying our admissions with a high property tax :)

Later that night, we went to Elk City Lake which is only about 5 minutes from the Whipples house to watch the sunset and to hike around a little bit.

It was so pretty up there and the weather was perfect!

The last day before we had to leave, while the boys went golfing, we headed to another Lake to have a picnic. It was really windy so we had to seek shelter while we ate.

After packing up our things, we headed to Tulsa, Oklahoma which is about an hour and a half drive from Kansas where we had to fly out at 6:00 A.m. the next morning. We luckily made our flight back to Salt Lake and we got to spend the day back in Utah just shopping and ended the night with the Bon Jovi concert. (Post on that to come)
Although we ended up going to 4 states in 5 days, we had such a fun week visiting the Whipples. We miss them so much when we are not with them! Thanks for entertaining us!

Valentines/Presidents day weekend

Valentines day was such a wonderful day. Well....it ended up that way. It started out, not that great. On our way to work, we were in a car accident. There was a police officer in front of us doing a U-turn to go to an accident across the street, well the car behind us was rubber necking the other accident and hit right into the back of us. Luckily, no one was hurt and our bumper was barely cracked. Don't worry, it is already fixed. Thank heavens she had insurance because just a cracked bumper came to over $1,000. Well after we finally made it to work, about an hour later, Sky dropped off these beautiful flowers. He is such a sweet heart.
Well, later that night, we decided to stay in and have a nice dinner at home. I decided to go a little over board and decorate the house. I hung these little hearts all over the house. It was fun. I have such a wonderful husband and I couldn't ask for a better Valentine. I love him so much.

Over Presidents day weekend, we headed to the Wilsteads. The night was filled with playing with Tylee and the cute babies and the boys singing and listening to their comedic acts. They think they are pretty funny. We always have a blast.

Valentine Day Cupcakes

I found this decorating idea on a blog that I follow and decided it would be a fun little project for Valentines this year. For some reason I cannot get the link to work to the blog so I copied and pasted the Chocolate heart directions.
Chocolate Hearts:
Melt some semi sweet chocolate chips on the top of a double broiler or in a bowl in the microwave at 50% power. I usually do it in the microwave. Start out with 30 seconds and then stir, and then 15 second increments until they are melted.

Put the melted chocolate into a pastry bag with a very small tip (#2,3,4 would work) or you can use sandwich bag. Simple scoop the melted chocolate into the bag and cut a tiny bit of the corner off (really small).

Have a silpat (or waxed paper) lined cookie sheet ready. With your pastry or sandwich bag of melted chocolate, write XOXO or draw hearts onto the silpat lined sheet. When you have the amount desired put the whole tray into the freezer to set for 10 minutes or so. Once the chocolate is set, carefully lift them off and place on the top of the frosted brownie bite. ENJOY!

These cupcakes are chocolate cake with Peanut Butter frosting. They are so good. I just happen to find the best Peanut butter frosting recipe, So, I thought I would share.
Here it is....
For the frosting:
~8 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
~4 tablespoons butter, softened
~1/2 cup peanut butter
~3 1/4 cups powdered sugar
~1 cup cool whip
Mix it all together and Wahla, you have a delicious cupcake!

Last Saturday, we headed down to Vegas for the day with My brother Dallas, and his wife Jessica. We headed down specifically to go to "The Bodies" exhibit at the Luxor. If you have never been....GO! It was seriously one of the most amazing and educational things I have ever been to. Everyone has to see it.

After the Exhibit, we met up with Jaden and Courtney Jolley, friends that live in Vegas. We ate at BJ's, its a Sports bar and grill. It was yummy and so fun to catch up with some old friends that we don't see enough!

We are so excited for our friends, Darren and Janessa, that welcomed their newborn twins, Lance and Kyler into the world on January 30th. They are wonderful parents and Tylee is such a great big sister. We love these little guys and the whole family. They are the greatest friends.

We went up to Pine Valley to go sledding up by the dam. Well, when we got there, the road was closed so we improvised. Luckily, my brother Jared had his 4Wheeler so we were able to find another reservoir that had frozen over and he just pulled us around on the tube. We had a blast! It is so nice that we can drive 20 minutes and be in the snow. We live in the greatest place!

We had such a wonderful Christmas! We always get so spoiled, its ridiculous. Of course, my camera died after the first hour or so, so I didn't get pictures of everyone. We always have such a busy Christmas but its worth it. We start out on Christmas eve hopping around from my dads, then to my moms for dinner, then to Skylers parents for bingo then back to my moms to watch Christmas vacation. Then, Christmas morning, we start at my moms, eat breakfast, head to Skys parents to have our christmas there, then on to my dads for more Christmas and dinner. By the time it is over, we are exhausted but we really have so much fun.
(This post is so out of order but I am too lazy to worry about it)

This is our little tree we put up in our apartment. I was so sick of our big tree last year that I refused to put it up this year. This just makes a better fit.

A couple weeks before Christmas we had the opportunity to go see Nathan Osmonds Christmas Concert at Tuacahn. It was really fun to listen to all the Christmas classics and a few new ones. Nathan Osmond is so talented and knows how to put on a good show. Tuacahn was all lit up with Christmas lights. It was so pretty. Thanks Dad for getting us these tickets!

Boys will be boys! Skyler insisted that he had to keep jumping across the water. I don't get it but he sure had fun doing it.

Skylers 25th

Skyler turned 25 a couple days before Christmas. I always stress about his birthday because with it being so close to Christmas, I just want to make sure the two days don't get combined. I think he had a great birthday. He was so happy all day. Thanks for everyone for his birthday wishes and gifts.

The day before his birthday, the Wilsteads had us over for a little birthday party. They are the greatest friends anyone could ask for. They made us dinner, brownies and got Skyler shoes for his birthday. He LOVES Vans and these were no exception, He wears them everyday!

We went to dinner with Skys parents at Samuri 21. Then we headed home where we had a handful of visitors that came bearing gifts. I would call him spoiled with 2 New pair of shoes, Bon Jovi Tickets, Pro V1 Golf Balls, Lions gear, Jackets, Clothes, and my dad got him a fat head of Barry Sanders that is 6 feet tall.

Its been a tradition that my family goes to Dennys for everyones birthday. (Did you know you get a free Grand Slam from Dennys on your birthday?) So when his birthday was coming to an end, we met my family at Dennys for one last little party.

We have the best family and friends. Thanks everyone for making my mans birthday such a great day. He deserves every bit of it!

Date Night in Provo

When we were up in Provo, the last night we were there we decided to have a date night with our friends, the Freis. First we went to Pizza Pie Cafe (I think that is what it is called) for dinner. Yum! Its so good. Then, we decided to try and get in the Christmas spirit by decorating this cute gingerbread train. It didn't quite turn out like the picture on the box but we still thought it was cute and we had a lot of fun decorating.

After the train was decorated, we headed up stairs for a competitive darts tournament.

Although I took second in the tournament, you can see that it was totally luck and no talent. When its your turn, you get to throw 3 darts. This was one of my turns.....One too high off the board, one too low off the board and one right on the bulls eye. That takes talent right?

Thanks to the Freis for being such great host and such great friends! We had a blast!

Over the holiday weekend we decided to have a date night. We watched the BYU game, went to the temple and then went to dinner. It was exactly what we needed and so much fun.

Black Friday

I am still not sure why, but we decided to go shopping at midnight last friday. It was absolutely insane but so fun. We went to the outlet mall and then headed to Walmart.

We pulled this Christmas tree for Carly all through out the store that was so packed with people. It was hilarious trying to manipulate it through the crowds.

We waited in line for over an hour but it was worth it. We found some killer deals!

Turkey Bowl!

Early Thursday morning, the boys held the 5Th annual Turkey bowl. We were so glad that all the guys could make it down. They played at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. It was SO cold! Sky's team lost...again....dangit! But, even with a torn rotator cuff, Skyler played great! I am grateful for all of Skyler's close friends and the relationship they all have. I know they will still be out there doing this when they are using canes and walkers.

We are all scattered across the State and even the U.S. so we don't get to see each other as much as I would like. We always have such busy holidays but its worth it and this year for thanksgiving,
was no exception.

We started off the holiday on Tuesday night. Skyler and I hosted my Dads side of the family at our place. Thanks to my Mom and Step Dads recipe, Skyler has gotten the turkey down to an art.

Thursday was such a busy but fun day for us. It started out with the Turkey bowl that Skylers friends play ever year (Post to come) at 7:00 a.m., then we went to Uncle Darrens house to watch the Lions play the Patriots. It was such a good game but unfortunately. the Lions lost.

I always forget to take pictures of the whole crew. I love going to any Ence family gathering though. They are so fun to hang out with and we had a wonderful thanksgiving with the whole family.

After the Ences thanksgiving dinner, we headed to my moms house to have her amazing meal. Stupid me, I didn't take a single picture at my moms house. Well, if you haven't counted, that is 3 total Thanksgiving dinners. We would not change our busy schedule for anything. We are so thankful for all our wonderful family members.

Last weekend we got to go to the Due West concert at the Jubilee of Trees. We first heard of them when they came and played at Tuacahn with The Nashville Tribute to Joseph Smith and just fell in love with them. October was such a fun month. I absolutely love this time of year

Otter Creek Cabin

This last weekend we got to celebrate Darrens birthday up at his families cabin up by Otter Creek lake. We always have so much fun up there. It was us, the Wilsteads and the Freis. We couldn't have had better company (We have amazing friends). The weekend was filled with shooting guns, four wheeling, beautiful scenery, playing a lot of games when the boys get way too competitive, eating some great food, and making a lot of fun memories.

Today we celebrated our 2nd Anniversary. I am so lucky to have my husband. He makes me so happy and keeps me laughing every day. He is the most selfless person I know and can put a smile on any ones face. Thanks for all you do for me Hun, You are the love of my Life and I can't imagine life with out you. Thanks for the best two years. (Sky keeps saying, Wow its like we served a mission haha)

2nd Anniversary

Mine and Skylers Anniversary is on September 13 which is a monday this year, So, we decided to celebrate over the weekend since we are both so busy during the week. We had a blast!

If anyone has a Dixie Direct Card and you are looking for a nice staycation here is St. George, you need to use the coupon for the Winngate hotel in Bloomington. The coupon is half off any room. All the standard rooms were booked so they upgraded us to the Executive Suite. It was amazing and I am pretty sure it was bigger than our apartment.

In the picture you can't tell but our hotel room door was a few feet wider than a normal room so Skyler thought it was pretty cool!

Last year, Skyler got me this charm bracelet with a marriage certificate and it was engraved with first anniversary. He thought it would be neat to add a charm every year with something representing a great memory from that year. This year, we chose South Dakota and a Bear. To represent our trip to Mt. Rushmore and Bear Country. On the back, It has an engraving that says second anniversary. Skyler is so thoughtful.

I thought it would be nice to put a lock on the new Love Lock Gate here in St. George. My friend Jana was telling me about these last month how they have them all around the world and then last week on the radio I heard they were putting a designated spot here in St. George for Love locks. They sale the locks at Bella Donna Boutique or Blvd. Home Furnishings. It doesn't come with a key so it can never be unlocked and it symbolically locks one's love forever and it "Locks your souls" I thought there was no better time than our anniversary to celebrate our love. They were actually dedicating it when we pulled up to put on our lock. Skyler thought I bought him a car and was throwing him a party (Long Story) but He obviously had no idea what was going on. I felt really bad that all he got was a stupid little lock, but in the end, he appreciated it ha. We are excited that we can return even 50 years from now and still find our lock. Doobie Brothers

Last weekend we went to the Doobie Brothers Concert at Tuacahn. They were awesome and so talented! Its been such a fun summer going to all the concerts there. We have not been disappointed. Thanks dad for the free tickets. We have been having so much fun!

SCPA 2010

This last weekend the boys competed in the annual SCPA (Santa Clara Players Association) Tournament. If you don't know what this is all about, here is a brief history...Ever since high school, these 10 boys (We are missing Dallas this year) have gotten together, drawn teams of 2 and they have an all day tournament of Random events. Whatever place you take in each event, you get so many point and then whoever has the most points at the end of the day wins! This year the events included Golf, which Blair and Eric won (Not pictured because I don't go and follow them on the course) and then next it was on to Tennis, Pool, Ladder Ball and then finally, Bowling. Volley ball was suppose to be included but we ran into some problems with the net so it was thrown out. It always gets very competitive but in the end, these boys will always be best friends.

After the long day, we were all so tired and hot. We got all cleaned up and headed to apple bees to dinner. Ya think we could fit anymore in the booth?
Even though Skyler didn't win, We had so much fun and we look forward to this every year.

Styx Concert

This past Wednesday we were lucky enough to go to Styx in Concert at Tuacahn. Again, Thanks to my dad who always hooks us up with free tickets to all the concerts. He works hard for them and we really have so much fun going. If any of you think you don't know what songs Styx sings, I bet you do. I was surprised at how many I knew. Just to name a few of my favorites....Come sail away, Renegade, Mr. Roboto, Lady and so many more. I was so impressed that after like 45 years these guys can still Rock it and their voices are incredible. There is just not talent like that anymore. We loved it. I am not sure what I loved more, the band and music or the audience? Most people there had grown up listening to Styx in high school. Everyone was acting like they were 18 again. Dancing around, Waving their arms, Air Guitaring, It gave me a good laugh. Thanks again Dad for the tickets.

Grimshaw Family Reunion

Every 2 years we have the Grimshaw Family Reunion up at our family cabin in Beaver. Every year, its a different theme and this year just happened to be redneck. I don't think we had to think to far out of the box this year. We had a blast and its so fun to see all the family.

Frei Wedding (Picture Overload)

Last week we headed up north to Salt Lake for some of our best friends, Blair and Nicoles wedding. Blair and Skyler have been friends since they were young and I got lucky enough to have him meet and marry Nicole who I love. Their wedding was so beautiful and we are so happy for them. We had such a fun week spending time with friends.
This Blog post is a little out of order but here it goes.....

This is my very favorite picture! When Blair and Nicole were cutting their cake, the caterer had this idea in his head of how everything had to go. This is no joke, he seriously held their hands and cut their cake with them. I was surprised he didn't start feeding it to them. Everyone was freaking out and trying to get him out of their picture but he just had to make it perfect. I have never seen anything like it before! What a great memory.

The wedding was in Nicoles back yard. It was so gorgeous. I am obsessed with her yard.

Anticipating the arrival of the Freis.

It was Coreys birthday and so we woke him up with a maple bar and sang happy birthday to him. We love you Corey!

It is never boring with these boys. We went to McDonalds at like midnight and had races on the slides. Surprisingly, the only injury, Dallas's toe.

Everyone needs to play silent football! I have not laughed that hard in a long time. You pretty much can make up any rules you want. Hence, the stuffed animals and spelling your name with your butt.

The night before the wedding we went to a Wedding dinner for Blair and Nicole. It was a Luau since they met in Hawaii. I love spending time with all of Skylers high school friends and wives. We are like a little family.

Me and Skyler got to go up a couple days before the wedding and we had the opportunity to do a live session in the SLC temple. It was amazing. I hope that everyone gets the opportunity to go at least once. I really enjoyed it and the SLC temple is beautiful!
